Billy James: Date Night With The Divas: NXT Season 3 Review for 11-23-10

Welcome to Date Night With The Divas: NXT 3 review for episode #12. Well it’s the last episode before the final show next week. With only 3 Rookie Divas left, what will we see tonight? Will we find out what’s going on between AJ and Primo? Will Kaitlyn bitch slap Vickie Guerrero for Vickie’s verbal abuse? Who will be eliminated tonight? Will Matt Striker grow some balls and bitch slap Michael Cole? Well, the Sensational One himself, Simply Sensational Billy James has got the answers. Come on now you know you want to hear it. “Let’s get this party started.”

WWE Trivia challenge.

Striker explains the rules of the challenge that questions about the WWE will be asked. If Rookie Diva who sounds in first with their air horn and answers correctly, will score the point. Points in the first round will be worth 100 points each answer the second round, points are worth 200. Before the challenge starts, Striker tells everyone that there will be no immunity and anyone can be eliminated tonight. The first round, the questions were about all 3 seasons of NXT. Naomi scores the first points when she answers the question as to who was the first winner of NXT; Wade Barrett. This is the only question that Naomi answers as AJ answers every other question in the challenge to win.  During all of this, Michael Cole and Josh Matthew sit at the announcer’s table playing games on Matthew’s iPad. Also during the challenge, Kaitlyn gives one of the funniest line ever in NXT by says that Striker didn’t hear her horn during the first round of the challenge which Striker replies that he can hear horn just fine. By the way, Kaitlyn is wearing a cut off t-shirt that said “I love mustaches”. After the challenge, Striker informs Kaitlyn that she has a match next against Nikki Bella as we go to break.

Kaitlyn vs. Nikki Bell

We come back with Kaitlyn in the ring as Vickie Guerrero is standing on the ring apron as Kaitlyn waits for her opponent. Nikki Bella comes out with her sister, Brie Bella as they shake what their mama gave them. On a side note, can you believe that CM Punk ranked the Bella Twins as a 4. Bella Twins are at least a 7 not a 4. Ok, back to the match as the two lock up. Nikki pushes Kaitlyn into the ropes and then pie faces Kaitlyn when the referee makes Nikki and Kaitlyn break as Kaitlyn is in the ropes. The two lock up again with Kaitlyn pushing Nikki to the mat. Kaitlyn tires lock up with Nikki who ducks under and gets a waist lock on Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn rams her ass into Nikki’s mid section which forces Nikki to break the hold. This allows Kaitlyn to get a wrist lock on Nikki. Kaitlyn hits a shoulder block to Nikki’s mid section and a cloth line while holding on to the wrist lock. Kaitlyn then hit a shoulder block but Nikki is finally able to get out of the wrist lock by arm dragging Kaitlyn. Nikki follows up with a snapmare and a drop kick to the knees as Kaitlyn comes off the ropes. Nikki goes for the first pin attempt of the match which Kaitlyn is able to kick out of. Nikki keeps control of the match as she stomps Kaitlyn repeatedly. Nikki then twists Kaitlyn’s left leg while it’s in the ropes. Nikki then gets Kaitlyn into a submission like move as she bends Kaitlyn’s left leg back, using her knee to apply more pressure. As several seconds Nikki releases the hold only to slam Kaitlyn’s knee to the mat. Nikki then throws Kaitlyn into the ring corner and continues to stomp on Kaitlyn. Nikki again works on Kaitlyn’s left leg using the ropes. Kaitlyn is able to kick Nikki out of the ring corner and hits an elbow shot to Nikki as Nikki comes running into the ring corner. Kaitlyn comes out of the ring corner and hits two cloths lines on Nikki. Kaitlyn tries for a suplex but Nikki blocks and hits a face buster on Kaitlyn. That does it, as Nikki gets the win over Kaitlyn. Nikki and Brie celebrates Nikki’s win as Kaitlyn is once again verbally abused by Vickie. We go back to Cole and Matthews who give us a recap of John Cena’s farewell speech on last night’s RAW before we go to break.

Winner: Nikki Bella

Match Rating: 1 ½ out of 10

Naomi vs. AJ

Naomi and Kelly Kelly head to the ring for the match of the evening as Cole gives a quick plug for the next pay-per-view; TLC. AJ now heads to the ring with Primo to take on Naomi in a one on one match. We get quick replay of AJ’s win over Aksana from last week where AJ made Aksana submit with the octopus. We get a lock up with Naomi getting AJ into a wrist lock. AJ reverses it with AJ trying to throw Naomi into the rope. Naomi blocks this and hits a snapmare followed up by a cloth line while AJ is sitting on the mat. Naomi goes to the first pin of the match but AJ easily kicks out of it. AJ blocks a cloths line attempt from Naomi and hit a hurricanrana on Naomi. Naomi quickly recovers by hitting a kick to AJ’s mid section followed by a spring board butt which takes AJ to the mat. As Naomi looks to go for the pin, AJ uses her feet to kick Naomi down to the mat. AJ runs toward Naomi as she ducks under Naomi’s legs to the outside of the ring. This allows AJ to pull Naomi’s leg which sends Naomi face first to the mat. AJ tries to go for a top rope move but Naomi slam AJ from the top rope to the mat. AJ quickly rolls out the ring to recollect her composure which stops Naomi from gaining any control of the match. Naomi then holds the ropes open, motioning for AJ to come back into the ring. AJ goes over to Primo who gives AJ some advice before AJ gets back into the ring. Naomi and AJ show true sportsmanship as they shake hands before they lock up again. Naomi fakes going into a lockup, gets behind AJ and drop kicks AJ in the back. Naomi then body slams AJ to the mat and then hits a solid leg drop on AJ. Naomi goes for a pin but AJ kicks out. Naomi continues to keep control as she puts AJ into the surf board submission. AJ powers up and breaks the hold by hitting a knee to Naomi in the mid section. Naomi shoves AJ into the ropes and catches AJ . Naomi looks to be going for a fall away slam buts changes into a running power slam. However AJ is able to slip out and hooks a sleeper hold. Naomi quickly gets out by hitting AJ with a jaw breaker. Naomi then hits a stunned AJ with an enzuigiri which leaves AJ lying on the mat. Naomi goes what should be the winning pin but to everyone’s amazement, AJ kicks out. Naomi stays on AJ by putting AJ into an Indian Death Lock \ Surf Board type submission. Josh Matthew surprisingly calling the match for real, points out that Naomi’s shoulders is down and the referee should be counting a pin. AJ gets out of the move and goes for a pin on Naomi who able toss off a weaken AJ almost thought the ropes. Naomi gets AJ into a head lock for a minute when AJ briefly gets Naomi into an arm bar. Naomi quickly gets back on track by getting the head lock back on AJ. Naomi then hooks AJ into a camel clutch type submission until changing it into an abdominal stretch type submission. AJ is able to get back to her feet and breaks the hold by ramming her ass into Naomi’s mid section. Naomi stops AJ with an elbow shot and a forearm shot to the head. Naomi throws AJ into the ropes who comes off the ropes and hits a tilt the world DDT on Naomi. Now everyone is getting into the match as Cole is even calling the action as Kelly and Primo yell for their Rookie to get up. AJ slowly rolls over and covers Naomi but Naomi is able to kick out. AJ hit a forearm shot and an elbow shot which knocks Naomi to the mat each time. AJ follows up with a spin kick to Naomi’s mid section and drop kick to Naomi’s face. AJ goes for another pin attempt but once again Naomi is able to kick out. AJ tries to throw Naomi into the ropes but Naomi reverses it which sends AJ into the ropes. Coming off the ropes, AJ hits a kick to Naomi’s face only for Naomi to hit a spinning heel kick as AJ comes off the ropes. Naomi goes again what should be the winning pin but still AJ has the strength to kick out. Naomi throws AJ into the ring corner who comes out of the ring corner and twist on Naomi to lock in the octopus submission. Naomi tries to hold on but Naomi drops to one knee and submits to the octopus. With that, AJ wins what is the best women wrestling match in the WWE this year. AJ celebrates with Primo as Primo places AJ on his shoulders. We get a replay of the action of the match with both Cole and Matthews giving high praises. After the replay, both AJ and Naomi shake each other’s hand. As we go to break, Matthews and Cole reminds everyone of the Rookie Divas elimination coming up later. The next challenge coming up next is the Last Sumo Standing challenge.

Winner: AJ

Match Rating 7 ½ out of 10.

Last Sumo Standing

We come back to a “Did You Known” plug with this one dealing with Military outreach. We come to Matt Striker who in the ring and tells everyone that this challenge coming up is the silliest challenge ever done on NXT. Striker then reintroduces the Rookie Divas who are now all wearing Sumo outfits. None of the pros seem to be happy about the challenge. Especially Primo who has a look of disgust on his face and does not approve when AJ comes out. Kaitlyn comes out to the ring or should I say rolls down to the ring. I have to say that this is the first time that I have ever felt sorry for Vickie Guerrero. AJ bless her heart, tries to stay positive when she comes out trying to jump up and down in the sumo suit. Matt Striker tries to make things fun as he gives one of the best lines of the night be telling the Rookie Divas that they all look great and look like Michael Cole’s girlfriends. Nice burn there Striker while Kaitlyn does the robot. Anyway, the rules to the challenge is simple, push your opponent out the yellow circle. AJ who won the last challenge will take on the winner of Naomi vs. Kaitlyn.  Kaitlyn wins when she tosses Naomi over her with in seconds. So it’s Kaitlyn vs. AJ in the finals. We start out with neither Kaitlyn nor AJ getting an advantage. After a couple of minutes, Referee restarts the match up with Kaitlyn quickly pushing AJ out for the win. Kaitlyn wins the Last Sumo Standing challenge and the most stupid challenge in NXT history. Striker tells everyone that its time for the Pros to get together and make their votes. We go back to Cole and Matthews who talk about last night’s RAW and that after the break, the Raw Rebound.

Winner: Kaitlyn

We get the RAW Rebound highlighting the WWE championship match and the shocking aftermath of the Miz becoming the new WWE champion. After the RAW Rebound, we go backstage where Striker is standing with Naomi, Kaitlyn and AJ. Striker then asks each Rookie Diva who they think should be eliminated tonight and why. AJ says that it should be Naomi as she wants she wants to find out what would happen with her in a one on one match with Kaitlyn and hopes it will happen next week. Kaitlyn says Aksana and Striker has to remind Kaitlyn that Aksana has already been eliminated. So Kaitlyn says Naomi as she has already face Naomi and also wants to see what would happen in a match against AJ. Kaitlyn even says that they could do the robot hand shake. Naomi tells AJ that nothing is going to happen in a match against Kaitlyn as Kaitlyn can not wrestle. Naomi says the winner of NXT 3 should someone who has the skills inside and outside of the ring which Kaitlyn doesn’t have. Striker then throws back to Cole and Matthews who tell us that the Pros are getting ready to make their votes and the Rookie Diva elimination is next.

We come back to the full screen as Josh Matthews reminds everyone that they can catch tonight’s episode and past episodes on Youtube, Hulu and WWE.Com. We go to ringside where Striker is with the three remaining Rookie Divas; Naomi, Kaitlyn and AJ. Striker says that this is the most stressful elimination yet as the three Rookie Divas has become close. We watch the titian tron to see who is eliminated and to everyone’s shock; it’s AJ. Nobody can believe that it’s AJ and Primo is pissed. AJ says that she wants to thank everyone who voted for her. AJ says that she knows that she’s not a supermodel or the girl who went promo. That she’s the girl who stands home to play video games and it’s that it is this type of girl that AJ think that WWE fans are ready for in a Diva. AJ says that it’s time for a Diva that represents all the girls watching the WWE and a Diva that guys would want to hang out with. AJ says that she has fought hard to get where she is and nothing is going to stop her. AJ says that if you think that this is the last you will see of her then you are sorely mistaken. AJ says we will see her again and she will accomplish her dreams. AJ once again, thanks everyone before she leaves. Kaitlyn and Naomi hug AJ as Matthews says he’ll miss AJ. AJ heads to the back and is met by Primo. Primo hugs AJ and walks AJ to the back as AJ cries. We end NXT with the Pros shocked at the elimination except for Nikki Bella who gives the looser sign. The final shot of the show is a close up of Naomi and Kaitlyn who are still shocked by AJ’s elimination.

Ok it’s time for “Real Talk” Well; thank you WWE for shitting on what was looking like to be a fairly ok show. The first challenge of WWE trivia was ok and made some sense as the Rookies need to know their WWE history. However, the Last Sumo Standing challenge was the most stupid challenge ever in the history of NXT and I mean ever. Even Matt Striker admitted that this challenge the most stupid thing that they have ever done. AJ, Naomi and Kaitlyn looked like they were having fun but for crying out loud they had to feel humiliated. Then to find out that AJ was the one eliminated tonight was total bullshit. I apologize to anyone if I’m offending them but I’m just expressing how I feel. As a fan of women’s wrestling, I hoped that the WWE would treat these girls with a little bit of respect but I forgot that we’re talking about the WWE. Yes, I know that AJ will be brought up to the main roster but its still bullshit for AJ to be eliminated. AJ has had two submission wins in a row. The only Diva who has won matches with a submission in the past year is Natalya. I gave the match a 7 ½ out of 10 rating and I stand by that rating. I know I’m not the only person feeling this way as I have seen others on sites such as Diva Dirt make the same comments. There’s been a lot of stupid stuff through out this season of NXT especially Michael Cole. Cole for most part of the season has trashed just about everything about NXT 3 and he’s the lead announcer for the WWE’s flagship show; RAW. The only reason that I gave this episode a 3 ½ out of 10 was because of the Naomi vs. AJ match. So who I think is going to win NXT 3? Well, I think the writing is already on the wall; Kaitlyn is going to win NXT 3. This will be the first season that the person who has won, didn’t deserve to. So what do you all think? Let me know down below in the comment section. Ok, that’s enough “Real Talk”.

the Golden One’s Movie Quote of the Week. (This quote is to express my feelings about AJ’s elimination.)

  1. Riggs says:

AJ wow i was figuring Naomi, that was one of the better woman matchs i’ve seen in years figures they boot one off the show but eh she will be back.

    • Billy James says:

Yes, AJ will be back that’s for sure. But if Naomi is going to be the winner, it would make more sense for Naomi to beat AJ not Kaitlyn. I like the fact the for the first this year, we actually saw a real women’s wrestling match. I’m impressed with Naomi and her wrestling skills considering that she’s been wrestling for just 2 years. I’m going more about this on this week’s Wrestling Debate. Thanks for being a loyal reader Riggs.
